God had His eyes upon Gideon before He called Gideon out to be a warrior for His people. Before Gideon believed he could do it, God watched him. God knew what Gideon was capable of before Gideon knew what he was capable of. How many times have you underestimated yourself before? How many opportunities have you been called to do but did not recognize the warrior of faith within yourself?

Jesus calming the storm is a common story of the Bible that most of you know. But have you ever thought about why Jesus delayed going to the disciples in the storm? He didn’t go out to the disciples on the water until late into the night. And it was so strange, the disciples thought Jesus was a ghost! They were uncomfortable, they were scared, and they didn’t understand what Jesus was doing. But Jesus wanted to show the disciples a side of him they had never seen before. Are you in an uncomfortable situation that God has placed you in? He might be trying to show you a NEW side of Him!
Monologue: Autumn waxes nostalgia about some family photo albums she flipped through at her parents’ house with her kids.

Are you facing a new beginning? Or are you beginning again? You're entering a new season, maybe it's life after a divorce, you're moving to a new place or starting a new job, or maybe you've hit rock bottom and everything just seems dark and void. You need to know this: God didn't need anything to create everything. He didn't need Adam, and He doesn't need you for Him to create opportunities that birth more opportunities. Remember, His steps are often easy. You just need to surrender and obey.

Lazarus has died, and his family went through the entire process of burying him. In the midst of their grief, Jesus tells the disciples that He is glad that He wasn’t there to stop Lazarus from getting sick and dying. NOW was the time for Jesus to strengthen their faith! When facing a Lazarus situation, the enemy will try to cloud your mind with emotions and thoughts that God could have stopped it. But what if we peel back those emotions and thoughts, and receive Jesus’s red letters for the truth that they are? What if God needs our faith strengthened for what is to come? If Jesus hadn’t resurrected Lazarus, would the disciples and Mary and Martha believed that Jesus would resurrect after His crucifixion?

Message: Autumn visits the red letters of Jesus when Lazarus died in John 11.
