Episode 171: Christmas Series Part 4 - The Enemy Shows Up When You Are Close!

You’ve been following the sign God has been leading you with, and you are searching and searching and searching. You ask around, “Where is it? Where is the house, the spouse, the thing that God has TOLD me He is guiding me to?” And then you hear it: the voice of Herod, telling you where to go, and he asks you to come back to him when you find it. The voice of the enemy. Herod told the magi where they would find the King of the Jews, and he asked them to return to tell him where Jesus is so he can find Him and “worship” Him. The enemy sent the magi in the right direction. The magi were ONLY 5 miles away from the place where Jesus was. Herod was RIGHT with his directions. When the enemy’s voice enters the scene, do not give up and do not return to him after you reach the destination that God is ultimately leading you to. You are so close.

Monologue: Autumn shares how she and Eddie are hiding presents from their kids this year.

Message: Autumn urges believers who are following their sign from the Lord that they are close to God’s destination for them when the enemy enters the scene, just as Herod entered the scene when the magi were so close to finding Jesus.

Question: “Have you ever felt like God's ask was so big, it not only scares you, but you doubt yourself?”

Praise Report: A listener shares how God gave her a specific sign to assure her that He would be present in a tough conversation with her friend and that He wants their friendship to be restored.

“How do I find God’s will for my life? How do I know if it’s God’s voice or my voice speaking to me?” Two questions we receive the most as a ministry, and today, Autumn answers them! Luke 1 and 2 are often read during the Christmas season, but there is so much more in it than how most people just read it aloud and call it good. But it is so much deeper and so much more relevant than we might think, because it is a story of how EVERYONE is searching for where Jesus is. Aren’t we doing that today, when we ask what His will is for our lives? What signs do we need to ask God to show us so we can know the will for our lives?

Monologue: Autumn announces two amazing things upcoming in Autumn’s personal life and in her ministry.

Message: Autumn shows how God’s will can be found in the signs He gives, just as He gave the shepherds in the same region where Jesus was born.

Question: “I’m stuck in hurt from my past, and I can’t get over the emotions it causes me. How and where do you start and get beyond emotions and into actual truth?”

Episode 169: Christmas Series Part 2 - GOD GIVES US SIGNS. Just Ask.

King Ahaz was told BY GOD to ask for a sign. Ahaz's mistake was his response, "I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord." If God has told us time and time again throughout Scripture to ask for a sign, who are we to act higher than our need for His compassion? God WANTS to show us His compassion! He WANTS to give us a sign, as He has done countless times before throughout all creation's history. So ask for a sign, especially when the enemy warms you against it. Ask for a sign. God's compassion wants to bring you tangible peace.

Monologue: Autumn shares how her kids write their Christmas lists with their own spunk and quirks included in how they come up with what they want.

Message: Autumn points out why believers can and should ask God for signs and how asking Him for a sign is actually encouraged by God Himself.

Question: “How do you navigate differing religious beliefs within your family at social gatherings?”

Praise Report: A listener shares how God surprised her with growth and healing during a season of needed isolation from everyone in her life.

Prayer Request: Autumn prays for a listener who needs healing from her anxiety, fear, and PTSD.

Episode 168: Christmas Series Part 1 - When Past Triggers Come Knocking, Whose Voice Are You Listening To?

The moment a report came to King Ahaz of Judah about a threat being near, he and his people “shook as the trees of the forest shake in the wind.” Ahaz had faced such news before, which ended with 120,000 valiant men slaughtered in one day and 200,000 taken captive. How often do we hear a report, and take it as a FACT before God has shared His final word? We are in a time when God is present with us always through His Spirit, yet when somebody or something sounds the alarm, we become fearful? Especially if we’ve faced it before and it had defeated us. You have got to tell yourself a different story. “Yes, that situation happened in the past, and this report looks just like the first or first few times it happened to me. But this time, I am standing on the Word of the Lord, and He will not be conquered.” The threat will not last. Welcome and invite God into the situation, because He will never be conquered.

Monologue: This episode features Autumn’s two oldest kids, Grace and Jude, sharing their family’s Christmas traditions.

Message: Autumn digs into Isaiah 7 and the passage of Scripture that leads up to the prophecy of Emmanuel.

Question: “How would you handle a good friend who used to have the same faith as you but is now deconstructing it?”

Praise Report: A listener shares a beautiful testimony of how God protected her from a massive ovarian cyst all during pregnancy, and how God has blessed her with two miracle babies after two pregnancy losses.

Episode 167: Don’t Factor God Out Part 4 - MIRACLES - God’s mercy refuses to fail you.

This Thanksgiving message from Autumn is for those of you who feel distant from God. Something is making you feel distant. Maybe it’s a spiritual block, and that block has pushed you to stand at a distance away from God. You show up at church, you pray, you do all the things, but you’re far away. When Jesus met with the 10 lepers, it was not by accident. Jesus did not coincidentally come across them, He MET them on their way to where they were going between Samaria and Galilee. These leprous men didn’t ask for healing. Instead, they called out for mercy. What did God’s mercy look like to them? “Go and show.” Jesus gave them directions to their mercy. Maybe, what we think God’s mercy “should” look like isn’t what God’s mercy ACTUALLY is. Do you think God knows what our souls actually need? Do you think, if you asked, our merciful God will give you directions to receive His mercy? When He gives you His mercy, make sure you thank Him!

Monologue: Autumn shares about her younger kids’ sweet and funny moments in their school’s Thanksgiving production.

Message: Autumn dives deeper into the story of the 10 lepers and the 1 who returned to Jesus with thankfulness.

Question: “Can you clarify what it means in Scripture when it mentions not being able to regain God’s goodness? I am afraid that I have lost God’s calling on my life after I had placed another person or relationship before God’s place in my life.”

Praise Report: A listener shares how she has been healed from fibromyalgia, PTSD, and a list of other things she suffered from for sixteen to twenty years.

Episode 166: Don’t Factor God Out Part 3 - MIRACLES - Have you learned to coexist with something in your life that is toxic?

In Matthew 8, we can read of a city that has learned to coexist with two demon-possessed men, and they have changed their ways of traveling, settling, and even where they take their herds because of how violent these men are. We read how Jesus comes in, immediately casts them into a herd of nearby pigs, and the problem for this entire city is solved. We think, “That’s great!” The city’s people, on the contrary, come out and implore him to leave. They would rather coexist with the demons and have their pigs than live without the problem, this stronghold that had taken place and affected their way of living. We could think, “Aren’t they grateful he did that for them?” But what about that stronghold within you? Have you buried something SO DEEP, it is a no-fly zone for ANYBODY to go there? What if, in one word, Jesus could completely root that out and heal you from that deep-set trauma, burden, pain, whatever it is? Wouldn’t you invite Him in to take it from you?

Monologue: Autumn shares how her daughter’s last opening night for the musical she is in went.

Message: Autumn engages listeners to compare what strongholds they have let themselves coexist with to the citywide, deeply set problem found in Matthew 8.

Question: “Do you believe in generational sin, like a sin that is passed down from one family member to another?”

Praise Report: A listener shares how she is experiencing a renewed spirit within her from a personal interaction with God through a meeting with her pastor.

Episode 165: Don’t Factor God Out Part 2 - MIRACLES - The Savior Does Not Submit to the Wind. It Submits to HIM.

When the disciples were in the fourth watch of the night, rowing against the wind, they were straining. They had gotten to a point where they were getting tired, they were getting weary, they were wondering when it would stop, when the wind would stop being contrary against them. They were only in the middle of the lake. They were only in the middle of the challenge, a trial. Are you in the middle of a trial? Are your arms getting tired of straining against the wind? Are you thinking to yourself, “I just need a miracle for this to end, I don’t have anything left to keep rowing.” What if, that door you’ve said couldn’t be the miracle of your deliverance, whether it was out of fear or it looked scary to you, is actually God trying to give you that miracle? That thing that you are straining against, that miracle you’re waiting for, God sees you straining. And I want to encourage you today that that very thing you’re straining against, He has complete authority over.

Monologue: Autumn celebrates her oldest child receiving her first acceptance letter to the first college she applied to.

Message: Autumn encourages believers who have been straining, like how the disciples were straining against the wind in the middle of the lake, when everything seemed to be against them, and how God SAW their straining and came to them.

Question: “Do you believe in generational sin, like a sin that is passed down from one family member to another?”

Praise Report: A listener, who has been struggling financially and had plumbing issues in her home, shared how God met her need and the bill was the exact amount she was hoping to pay.

Episode 164: Don’t Factor God Out Part 1 - MIRACLES - God Doesn’t Usually Answer How You Expect Him To.

Can you relate? You have a problem, a financial problem, and you know a solution that would work. So you pray, “Lord, if you would just provide a raise, or if you would give me a promotion or a new job, then the problem will be solved. Can you give me one of those things, God?” You ask God to follow those instructions, but God is not the kind of miracle worker to work within your limits or expectations. That defeats the purpose of a miracle that can’t be explained. When Jesus and the disciples found that they had a problem, that thousands of people who listened to Jesus speak were hungry, the disciples came up with a solution and told Jesus to send them away. Do you know what Jesus did? He did not tell them, “Great idea, guys, I will send them away.” He said, “Give me what you have.” And He did the miraculous, something unexplainable by anybody. How can we expect miracles if we set an expectation on how God is going to answer?

Message: Autumn digs deeper into the miracle of Jesus feeding the five thousand.

Question: “How do you parent when you want to send your kids into the world, but as their mom you’re actually afraid?”

Episode 163: It Is Time to GET UP, You’ve Been Down Too Long

Maybe you are at the point of giving up. Maybe you’re at the point of quitting. Jairus’s daughter was at the POINT of death. Jairus went to Jesus and implored him earnestly to just lay hands on his daughter so she would be well again. What Jesus did was not only shut the mouths of those unbelieving of His power and authority over sickness and death, but He laid His hands on what LOOKED like an impossible situation and brought LIFE back into it. What Jesus told the little girl, “talitha kum,” “little girl, I say to you, get up,” He is saying to you today. It’s time to get up. What looks over actually isn’t. It’s not a death, it’s a new beginning.

Monologue: Autumn shares about her recent trip focused on rest and the importance of rest.

Message: Autumn puts believers in the shoes of the little girl in Mark 5, who was at the point of death and her father, Jairus, implored Jesus to lay his hands on her to bring her from the point of death.

Question: “Why do Christians still actively celebrate Halloween with it so closely mimicking pagan traditions?”

Praise Report: A listener shares how God surprised her medical professionals by eliminating three big issues from needing to be operated on.
